Spring Has Sprung!

Finally!  The gardens are starting to come alive, seeds are sprouting and the greenhouse is full of herbs, heirloom tomatoes and peppers and gift baskets for the Mom in your life.  Franklin Farm Herbals & Market will reopen for the season this Saturday, May 10th with the Rolling Hills Studio Tour.  Hours are 10-5 Saturday and Sunday.  Normal hours are Thursday thru Sunday, 10-6 pm.  Although to be honest Thursdays are more noonish.  The shop also offers payment options of debit and credit cards.

Some well started tomato and herb plants will be available for sale.  Various herbal gift baskets will also be on the table.  Also, my usual herbal products, goat milk soaps, our own honey, jams, jellies and eggs.  I will be doing demonstrations through out the day, probably an oil and a vinagar  infusion, also possibly an ointment making.

This year we are planting a small orchard , Asian pears, peaches, cherries, plums, plumcots. And pears as well as ground cherries.  In a couple of years we will be offering our own fruits as well as tomatoes, peppers and lettuces, fresh cut herbs and corn.

New this year will be garden tours combined with a mini course on herbal infusions, both oil and vinagar, tea blending, artisan bread making and how to make your own delicious ricotta cheese.  Courses will be 20.00 and dates will be posted on this site and on our Facebook page Franklin Farm Herbals and Market.

I hope to see you out and about this weekend,

Mini lavender garden, 3 varieties
